Jesus Christ saves us from our sins, but that doesn’t mean that people who rejoice in their salvation today won’t take it for granted or fall away from it in the future. God’s Holy Spirit has to intervene when we are tempted to return to the very problems from which Christ has saved us in the first place so that we remain in the faith.
