First Sunday of the Epiphany, January 7, 2024

Special days in the Christian calendar get attacked from two sides with the claim that our special days were originally celebrated by pagans:  non-religious people want to celebrate those days without the religion attached to them, and fundamentalist types are looking for reasons to support their claim that it is a sin to celebrate a special day.   It is perfectly appropriate to thank God for every day and any day and for special days because He has given us an entire life to live in celebration for His blessings.
